Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Diploma in Translation and Interpretation (Batch 12) and Diploma in Tamil (Batch 14) 

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Diploma in Translation and Interpretation (Batch 12) and the Diploma in Tamil (Batch 14) programmes, conducted by the Department of Linguistics, University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on Saturday, 16 August 2025, from 10.00 a.m. at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall, University of Kelaniya.

A total of 94 students from the Diploma in Translation and Interpretation programme and 192 students from the Diploma in Tamil programme were awarded certificates at the ceremony, marking the successful completion of their respective courses.

The event was graced by the presence of the academic staff of the Department of Linguistics, along with visiting academic staff who contributed to the teaching of the two programmes. The ceremony was further enriched by the participation of the parents and family members of the awardees, whose presence added to the significance and celebratory spirit of the occasion.

The ceremony highlighted the Department’s continued commitment to promoting language education, translation, and linguistic competence, while recognizing the dedication and academic achievements of the students.
