Certificate Awarding Ceremony Marks Successful Completion of Diploma Programmes

The Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, successfully held the Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the Diploma in Tamil (Batch 15) and Diploma in Translation and Interpretation (Batch 13) on Sunday, 26 April 2026, at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall, University of Kelaniya.

Over 250 students were awarded certificates in recognition of the successful completion of their respective programmes.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Rev. Dr Kapugollawe Anandakiththi, Head of the Department of Linguistics; Professor Emeritus R. M. W. Rajapakshe; Dr Anuradha Jayasinghe, Coordinator of the Diploma in Tamil; and Senior Lecturer Jayamal de Silva, Coordinator of the Diploma in Translation and Interpretation, along with academic staff members of the Department of Linguistics and visiting academic staff members who contributed to the programmes.

The ceremony was further enriched by the participation of family members of the awardees, whose presence added warmth and significance to the occasion.
