Excellence in Focus: Department of Linguistics Shines at the Excellence in Humanities Awards 2025

The Department of Linguistics is pleased to announce and congratulate the following members of our academic community who were recognized at the recent Humanities Excellence Awards ceremony for their outstanding contributions:

• Dr Vindhya Weerawardhane:

Coordinating Excellence Award - in recognition of her dedicated academic leadership and commitment as the Coordinator of the MA in Linguistics programme

• Dr Anuradha Jayasinghe:

Coordinating Excellence Award - in recognition of her dedicated academic leadership and commitment as the Coordinator of the Diploma in Tamil

• Senior Lecturer Jayamal de Silva:

Coordination Excellence Award - in recognition of his significant service and innovation in advancing digital and technology-enhanced learning initiatives in the Faculty as the Coordinator of the Computer-Assisted Learning and Web Unit 

Contribution Excellence Award - in recognition of his exceptional service to the Department of Linguistics

In addition, we are especially honoured to acknowledge Retired Senior and Chair Professor R. M. W. Rajapakshe, who received an Honorary Service Award in recognition of his long-standing and distinguished academic contribution to the field of Linguistics.
